Termite/Wood Destroying Insect Inspections for Home Closings When you buy or sell a home insist on an Official Wood Destroying Insect Report (commonly referred to as a Termite Letter, Real Estate Report or Clearance Letter) The Report States: Whether or not an infestation was found. What control measures would be required to eradicate the infestation, (if an infestation is found). Did the home have evidence of a previous infestation of termites or other wood destroying insects and other important information. This is an important inspection and should not be taken lightly. The home must be inspected with-in 90 days prior to the closing. The inspection may have to be repeated after 90 days so if your loan. Order your termite letter in plenty of time and with-in the 30 day window of your home closing. In Kentucky only a Licensed Pest Control Operator can legally provide a termite clearance letter.
